Pictures of the process and final testing of the recipe, taken by LM Response to The RecipeWould you consider yourself someone who cooks often? Yes, I generally cook dinner for my family about once a week. Have you ever made a dish like this before? No, I have not. I found this recipe very original. Did you find this recipe simple to make? Yes! the instructions were extremely fast and simple. I appreciated the step which included the prep work because many recipes don't remind me to do this and I get flustered very easily when I'm cooking. Would you say my Sustainability Guidelines have been met for this recipe? Why or why not? The first one was met by me to some extent... I used local cherry tomatoes and herbs but used imported crawfish because I didn't necessarily trust the local crawfish I found. The remaining guidelines were definitely met within the recipe. What skills did you learn, if any? I learned about adding acidity to cooking. Honestly, I was worried that the lemon zest and lemon juice would be too sour and prominent in the final dish but it wasn't, and I found that it gave just enough acidic flavor. Do you think this experience will affect your cooking in the future? Yes, I will definitely cook this and other dishes like it (and other recipes on this site) in the future! Any additional comments? I added parmesan to my dish, as suggested by the recipe, and I substituted spinach for cherry tomatoes. I also used only one onion instead of two, only because my family doesn't like onions very much. If I had to add any criticism at all, it would be that I didn't know how to cut onions 'half-moon' style, and I didn't see any 'how-to' tips for that on the site. Overall, everyone in my family really liked it and I will be making it again! RecipeThank you LM for trying this recipe and responding! I appreciate you sending in some pictures and taking the time to try this as a Gen Z, and I'm glad that you enjoyed my Lazy Skillet recipe! An image of the final dish, taken by MW Response to The RecipeWould you consider yourself someone who cooks often? I generally would consider myself to be someone who cooks or bakes often. However because we have recently moved and our container has not arrived yet, I haven't been able to cook as much due to lack of supplies. Have you ever made a dish like this before? I have previously made different pasta recipes, including making pasta, gnocchi and ravioli from scratch. Sometimes when I'm home alone with my brother, I'll make us some simple spaghetti and tomato sauce. But it's mostly just warming up some canned sauce. Did you find this recipe simple to make? This recipe was very easy to make. Although I had to improvise slightly because of a lack of materials, the meal was nevertheless easy and efficient. The ingredients were also pretty easy to find. Would you say my Sustainability Guidelines have been met for this recipe? Why or why not? I definitely think this recipe is sustainable. Little waste was created in the process, most of which was compostable. In addition, the recipe required mostly fresh ingredients, thus supporting local farms and natural wildlife as a result. What skills did you learn, if any? Since I have some experience in cooking, I didn't really learn any new skills specifically. However the skills I had developed prior definitely helped me in the efficiency aspect of the cooking and prepping process. Any additional comments? I absolutely enjoyed this recipe and I would definitely make it again. RecipeThank you MW for trying this recipe and responding! Some images of the process of trying the recipe, taken by T. Response to The RecipeWould you consider yourself someone who cooks often? No, I rarely cook. Have you ever made a dish like this before? No I have not. Did you find this recipe simple to make? Somewhat, it was difficult for me as a beginner, however, I found the steps quite simple to understand after some extra guidance. I found the Cooking Basics page helpful :) Would you say my Sustainability Guidelines have been met for this recipe? Why or why not? Yes the first point is accurate. The second point is met. all points are met. What skills did you learn, if any? I learnt how to slice and matchstick vegetables, and chiffonade basil. Do you think this experience will affect your cooking in the future? Yes, because I have learnt a lot in the kitchen that I didn't know before. I will be able to decide what is healthy, if it looks healthy, and also the amount of stuff by eyeing when making food which will cut down on the food waste. Any additional comments? I thought it tasted splendid actually (you know, imagining it was not ketchup). I think this recipe making is going very well, especially considering how original this is. However, I did use ketchup instead of tomato sauce by accident! RecipeThank you T for trying this recipe and responding!
